How does mind works?

When people say- “life is busy, I can’t simplify”.

No ,it’s you -you don’t want to.

You have to make a choice.

Nobody is holding a gun to your head saying — you have to associate with these people , you have to do these things.

No! You choose to do that.

Don’t do things that can’t sustain you.

You have a particular amount of energy and you have to divide it between all the people and things that you love.

The law of thermodynamics states- “ you cannot create or destroy energy but you can transform it from one thing to another.”

So can’t create more energy , you will have a particular amount of it and you can only do the much you have.

So , you need to know where you’re diving your energy.

To explain it easily “ Look at energy the same way you look at money!”

It is an infinite resource that need to be

wisely managed , wisely relocated and wisely invested.

For example, every person sleeps for 7 to 8 hrs a day roughly, so we are awake for 16 hours of the day. Let’s say on average we are practicing 13 hours a day, 7 days a week- distraction.

And then we wonder why we are so good at it.

That’s the law of practice is that we become good at whatever we practice.

Whether it is positive or negative, it doesn’t matter.

If you practice something over and over again, you become really good at it. And that’s why people are so good at distraction.

People usually come up with an excuse of “Technology is a great distraction !

Smartphones- so distracting and then the internet!”Technology itself is not a bad thing , it’s actually a beautiful thing.

As long as we’re in charge of it.

But every time your phone beeps or makes a sound and you go “Yes Master , how can I serve you?”

Then you live in that distraction.

It is training you to be distracted, but if you actually use technology correctly , then technology is not a bad thing.

So how do we become good at understanding?

We start understanding the mind.

We all have it — it is the most powerful tool in the world.

It is better than smartphones, It makes a machine that drives itself on Mars.

So how do we learn how it all works?

You need to control your mind.

Once you can control it you can focus on it.

You can’t focus on something which you don’t understand.

So, there are two important things-

One is awareness and the other one is mind.

How? Let me explain-

So, imagine awareness is a glowing ball of light , like an orb that can float around — that’s awareness .

Now imagine, a mind with a vast space — with many different sections within it.

One area of the mind is angry,jealousy,food,sex,happiness,joys,science,art. And these glowing balls of awareness can travel within the mind and you can go to any area of the mind it wants you to go to. And when it goes to a particular area of the mind — it lights up that area, when it lights up that area of the mind — you can become conscious of it.

That is what happens all day.

We allow people and things around us to take our awareness from one thing to another all day long from the time we wake up and therefore we become distracted.

To be concentrated is to be able to keep your awareness on one thing for an extended period of time.

So, how do we practice this?

We practice this by doing one thing at a time throughout a day.

What’s the best way to develop concentration?

The best way to develop concentration is to bring that practice into our everyday life.

Look at the opportunity throughout your day.

For example, if you have a child at home- practice concentration.

Parents are always worried about how they can teach their children to learn concentration?

The answer is very easy: first the parents need to learn how to concentrate and if they do the child will learn to do it by themselves.

And if you can’t concentrate you can’t expect your child to do so.

Benefits of concentration are endless-

When you’re able to concentrate you are able to focus all your energy into a single given point.

Life is a manifestation of where your energy is flowing. If you can’t concentrate on your energy, the things that you want to manifest in life become very very challenging.

So, learn to concentrate by doing one thing at a time. Bring this practice into everything you do throughout the day. Make a part of your life — practice! Practice! Practice!!

Keep bringing awareness back and keep it focused on one thing at a time.
